Happy Valentine's Day!

Michael's Valentine's Day Gift to Me:

1. A clean house- priceless!

2. He woke up at 5am with Alexander and took care of Isabella when she woke up, and let me sleep in till 8am

3. Isabella slept through the night (4th time ever!) and went for 8hrs without being fed!  Yeah!

4.  While taking care of both kids, he made me breakfast in bed- fresh made orange juice, potatoes, eggs with bacon and cheese, and chocolate chip pancakes made from scratch (he couldn't find the Bisquick!).  Michael and Alexander carried breakfast in bed to me at 8am Sunday morning.  How cute!

5.  On Saturday while I was at the gym, Michael took both kids (including Isabella who is sick with a bad cold and an ear infection) to Stater Brothers (his first time taking both anywhere by himself), and purchased me red and yellow tulips and pink frosted chocolate mini cupcakes.  He had to carry Isabella while he pushed the shopping cart because she kept crying!  It was so sweet of him to do!  Wonderful unexpected surprise when I came home.

Thank you Michael!  I love you so much!

The Germinator!

This has been a fun week in the Williams household.  Isabella had a little cold a couple weeks ago.  The day after she got healthy, Alexander became sick with a cold, cough, and congestion (last Friday- a week ago).  I took Alexander to Beaver Medical Clinic’s new Urgent Care facility in Banning (very nice!) on Monday, and he was diagnosed with an ear infection and given amoxicillin.  He had been up the previous 2 nights with a fever, coughing, and gagging.  We have to tackle him to give him his medicine.  Not a pleasant experience.

By the way… a 2 year old with a cold is absolutely disgusting!  Every piece of furniture in our house has become a Kleenex for his snotty nose (as does his tongue and our clothes).  Eeewwwe!  Dirty!  He goes through a couple long sleeve shirts a day for that very reason.  We have attempted using baby wipes and real Kleenex on him, but then he runs away and acts like a goofball!  We have done so much laundry this week… it is ridiculous!

Isabella got sick again with another cold on Monday.  This cold came on with a vengeance and a fever and croupy cough.  Her asthma has also a problem.  I took her to the Urgent Care Thursday after having a fever for the last 24hrs and she has a full blown ear infection in her right ear (when I would touch her ear she would cringe.)  Her last ear infection was on her left ear and it had ruptured.  Luckily we caught this one before that happened.  They gave her a prescription for a new antibiotic, Augmentin, because the amoxicillin took forever to work last time ($15 co-pay instead of Alexander’s cheaper $4 medicine).  I like this one more.  It isn’t pink (the previous one stained her cute clothes).  It is cloudy white and the dose is smaller.  The nurse gave her a breathing treatment for 10-15min.  She cried through most of it.  She was breathing better when we left.

We had wonderful plans to attend 2 fun Valentine’s Day Parties today with the kids… until they both became the germinators.  We had one at Heather’s house for our church group this morning, then one for Mom’s Club this afternoon…  Maybe next year!

FYI- We are all a little stir crazy being stuck inside the house all day.  Alexander has the wiggles, and Mommy just needs a sanity break!  Thank you to Grandma for watching both kids yesterday so that Mommy and her friend could get a break and go to the Redlands Temple for a session.  Yeah for sanity!

At their visits to the doctors they were weighed.  Alexander weighs 33 lbs and 2 1/2 years old and Isabella weighs 19 lbs 2oz and is 9 months old today!

Happy Valentine's Day 2010!

Michael very generously purchased new front brakes and rotors for me (on the minivan) for Valentine’s Day.  Oh how sweet!  That was the most expensive Valentine’s Day gift I have received ($371! Crazy!).  I purchased 4 shiny new tires ($391 at Costco- price went up- that was with a coupon!) for Michael’s Honda CR-V for his Valentine’s Day gift.  So, when people ask what we are doing for Valentine’s Day this year, we respond “Nothing!  We can’t afford to go out!”  Life certainly gets more practical when you are married with children, a new home, and other responsibilities.

Happy Valentine's Day Michael! I love you!

Alexander kept repeating "Dirty!"

Alexander has learned how to pump lotion out of the container.  One day I came into the master bedroom looking for Alexander (he was a little too quiet..).  I saw him standing innocently by our bed and he was showing me the sign (American Sign Language) for dirty.  He kept repeating dirty in sign language and verbally.  I looked on the carpet and saw that he had squirted out some lotion on the floor.  As if to further emphasize his point, he
pressed the lotion pump down again and said dirty.  Nice.
