February-March 2011 Photo Updates

Mom's Club Field Trip to the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert.  Robin hosted the event, and with 12 children in attendance, we got in for only $3.75 each (ages 2+), normal admission is $8.  Great fun!

Hmmm... What shall I put on my pizza?

I's like to place an order, please!

Taxi driver is here.  Where to?

 Future archeologists hard at work.

Nap time is needed.  I'm so sleepy and cranky!

I found the sand pile outside!

 Beautiful view in Palm Desert.

President's week off with Michael.  We went to Disneyland and CA Adventure for two days and stayed at the Desert Palms Hotel & Suites.  Free breakfast both days!  Yummy waffles!

Arggg! Matey.  I have found the pirate's treasure.

Isabella held Daddy's hand and Alexander help Isabella's leash.  Too funny!

Yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

Alexander was less than cooperative for group photos this day.

Ha ha... funny story.  So we line up to meet Mickey.  It is finally our turn.  We take lots of cute photos.  When it is time to move on, we all walk away, but Isabella goes up to Mickey (who has turned around in anticipation of meeting a new family) and grabs his booty!!!  Crazy kid!  Mickey jumped, covered his mouth and pointed at Isabella.  It was hilarious.

All tuckered out.  A rare nap in her stroller.  She slept all through dinner time.  Thank you!

Alexander was such a good boy ALL DAY at Disneyland.  He earned a special present from Mommy and Daddy.  He choose a miniature Peter Pan set of figurines.  He loves them and plays with them daily!

We ate at the House of Blues.  They are on Restaurant.com and we got a $25 gift certificate for only $2 (online coupon codes).  We had to spend $35 to use it, so our entire meal for 4 people was around $17 including tax and tip.  Sweet deal.  Especially for Downtown Disney!  Even had enough room left for dessert.

 Chillin in the hotel room.

 Day two at Disneyland.

We had no clue Alexander was making a silly face until we saw the photos on my camera.  Isabella was so happy to meet Minnie Mouse!

Waiting for It's Tough to be a Bug in CA Adventure.

We visited Grandma and Grandpa Shea after Disneyland on the second day before heading home.

 All tuckered out again!
Alexander made this cute Fall hat at preschool.

Our neighbor Christina, brought over some yummy cupcakes for the kids with green sprinkles and yellow ducks on top.

Ready to show off my new boots.  Check out this deal- I bought these nice black boots from Bass in February.  Alexander was shopping with my and wandered to the very back corner of the store.  Then I saw a box on clearance labeled size 11 (my size!).  I tried them on and they worked!  They retail for $109.  They rang up for around only $16 (lower than advertised).  Then I had a $5 rewards coupon, and sent a text for an additional $5 off, so including tax, my cute boots were purchased for $7!!!  Amazing!  They are my first boots of that style.  They have 2" heals, so I am a little tall in them, but that is better than a 4" heel...

We grew grass for my Signing Time class at the Beaumont Library.  It grew about 4-5" in only 2 weeks.  Sweet!

 Homemade Popsicles.

 Banana apple bread
Yeah!!! My blog book from Blurb.com finally came!  We were soooo excited to get it in the mail.  It is 310 pages long and great quality.  We love it!

Isabella mingled with Clifford the Big Red Dog at Barnes and Noble in Redlands.

We had the privilege of having Elder Jefferey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles come to Yucaipa Stake for Stake Conference March 5-6, 2011.  It was truly an amazing experience.  We shook hands with him twice (the kids both met him), and my dad was able to be in meetings with him (Stake Clerk) a lot that weekend.  The conference was held at the Redlands Stake Center across from the Redlands Temple to accommodate more families.  My mom saved us amazing seats both days.  We read the Gospels of Matthew, Luke, and John in preparation for his visit.  We are continuing to study the New Testament as a family.  It is wonderful to read about the Savior's life.  It was an amazing experience when Elder Holland gave the congregation an Apostolic blessing at the end of the conference.  We were all spiritually fed that weekend.

 Cuddles!

 I'm a caterpillar Mommy!

Isabella is in her "Signing Eureka" stage.  She has learned around 50 new signs (American Sign Language) in the month of March alone.  She has about 20 words verbally, but her ASL signs help so much with communication.  She loves to watch Signing Time with Mommy.  She is signing "together."
Isabella's verbal vocabulary (I may be missing some words): No!, Bussa, up, blue, I, Hi!, more, Nemo, Mama, me, Dada, some approximation for Grandma, cookie, bubu (bubbles), yes/yeah, baby, go!, more, "ch" (cheese), amen, bye bye + some animal sounds

"Pay attention!" in ASL.  Alexander taught her that sign.
Isabella's ASL Vocabulary: (she know more than this, I tried to write down new words as she learned them)

January: carrot, water, apple, leaf, tree, cold, shoes, Mommy, Daddy, beautiful, potty, thank you

March: rabbit, up, down, yes, no, grumpy, together, school, backpack, bath, jacket/coat, pay attention, happy, sad, wind, sleep, bed, sun, hot, winter, kiss, star, thirsty, page, grass, bear, Hi!, please, book, wash hands, go, stop, bubbles, dirty, clean, car, bike, bear + more each new day (as of March 20, 2011).

Visiting Teaching Emily and her son Connor.
 Redlands Temple at night.

 Read me a story, please.

I got a groupon for a store in Oak Glen.  We bought 2 big bags of apples with it.  We ate apple pie and apple crisp all week!

 Smoothie time!
All dresses up and ready to go!
A delicious caramel apple with peanut butter chips drizzled in chocolate.  Yummy...

Isabella pushed Alexander outside on the bike.

Mommy broke the baby gate.  It was rather painful.  So... I was walking down the stairs, carrying something, and I attempted to open the gate.  It got stuck, and my downward momentum kept going.  I kind of fell through it and bent the gate and pulled it off the original location on the wall.  My toes were a little injured and I lay pathetic and in pain on the ground.  I also had a big bump and bruise on my left knee.  The rest of the day was spent hobbling around. The gate was irreparable, so I went to Home Depot and negotiated for a gate out of the box for half price ($17) to continue to block Isabella's way up the stairs.

The dinosaurs have taken over the tub!

Emergency expo in Yucaipa. Isabella had fun playing in the tent.

More chocolate milk, please.  This is a new discovery for me!
