So cute in a hat!

Isabella and Mommy went to Disneyland by ourselves when Michael was home for President's week.  I let Isabella crawl around in the Grand CA Hotel.

Mommy babysat Karen Staples's daughters Kate and Alli.  Alli was not having fun!

Check me out in Daddy's hat!

Yummy shark chew toy!
Alexander and Mommy like to play in the backyard.  Bella likes to bundle up and eat her Cherrios and watch us chase the soccer ball around the yard.

Updates, March 2010

Hello family and friends!

Just a few updates.  These are a few of the activities that have occupied my time in 2010...

American Sign Language Classes
I have been busy learning how to make a professional website.
I applied for my first official business lisence for the City of Yucaipa.
I started teaching my Mommy and Me ASL Class in Yucaipa in March (8 kids + moms enrolled).
I became a Baby Signing Time Instructor certified through the Signing Time Academy.
I became a Master Signing Time Instructor (top level they have).  I can present at conferences, teach all ages including professionals, and cool stuff like that!
I started my first official website for my new business: Little Ones Love 2 Sign!
www.LittleOnesLove2Sign.com
I ordered my first official business cards and promotional materials for advertizing my business today.
I was interviewed by a writer for the Record Gazette today about my ASL class (local Beaumont/Banning Newspaper).

Home
I learned how to make homemade mozzarella cheese from Chanelle Nielson today (it is yummy!).
Alexander and Isabella have taken turns being sick since January!  Isabella is on her 4th cold and cough, and 2nd ear infection of 2010.  Alexander just got over his 3rd cold and cough and is healthy!  Yeah!  I have been sick with various aliments for the past month (now I'm getting over my lingering cold and cough).  Luckily Michael has stayed healthy!
Isabella will be 10 months old tomorrow!
I have been busy teaching Alexander and Isabella American Sign Language.
Alexander is like an academic sponge right now.  We spend hours on puzzles, reading books, playing Mommy Choo Choos, working on our ABCs, colors, and numbers, and more!  We also occasionally make it outside for a walk, a trip to the park, or just to run around in the back yard.

My Disneyland pass expires at the end of April, and I hope to make it there a few more times before that time (assuming kids are healthy and I have energy!).

Isabella got her 3rd tooth yesterday (March 10), and is working on 3 more top teeth.
Isabella is crawling all over and climbed up her first two steps this week.  Nothing is safe!
I have been assigned to work in the nursery at church for the next 3 months.  Good luck getting healthy!

As I write this, Isabella is fighting a nap, and Alexander is on his 3rd bowl of Cherrios!  Maybe he is going through a growth spurt...  Happy March to all!

Giveaways
FYI- My friend Emily is doing a give away on her blog notsoidlehands.blogspot.com for a $60 gift card to Mikarose, a modest clothing company.

What we do for our little ones...

I took Alexander to the dentist 3/18/10.  Unfortunately it looks like he has my sad weak teeth.  He has 4 cavities on his molars.  I blame fruit snacks.  My goal is to only give him fruit snacks on Sundays to keep him quiet in church...  The insurance will pay for the fillings, but no medication to sedate him.  It costs $250 for the oral sedative medicine (does not knock him out) paid up front.  If he needs the laughing gas, it is an additional $100.  If he needs to be totally sedated, the price is unknown...

Alexander is less than cooperative at the dentist, and has yet to had an official cleaning.  I hold him in my lap and the dentist brushes his teeth.  He got closer to taking x-rays yesterday, until they tried putting the thing in his mouth.  He squirmed out of the dentist chair when the "electric toothbrush" turned on.  They said they would give him a real cleaning and fluoride when he is sedated.  It takes 1.5hrs for the sedation to work and 30min to fill the cavities.  He is only 2 1/2 years old!  Ahhhh!  Michael has amazing teeth that he never flosses, and he rarely ever gets a cavity!  Alexander and Isabella need those teeth!

So... long story short... after paying upfront for the oral sedation, I was brave and took my flash from my Canon Digital Rebel XT Camera (purchased for Christmas 2009), and returned it to Costco.  That money will pay for Alexander's dental bills.  I just hope we don't get any more unexpected expenses for his teeth.  For the love of our little ones!  Alexander- I am sorry you got my weak teeth!  No more sweets for you (unless we brush your teeth right after...)!
